Süddeutsche Zeitung:
...the intimate duo of percussionist Hadi Alizadeh and vocalist Gayané Sureni, who put a classical spin on Kurdish-Armenian music, are the winners of the Bavarian Creole World Music Competition. They prevailed against four other competitors at the Nuremberg Künstlerhaus and can now perform at the Bardentreffen in July and represent Bavaria at the Creole Festival in Hanover in November.
Duo concert :
The Armenian singer Gayané Sureni sings beautiful, lively and meditative songs from her homeland, accompanied by the Iranian drummer Hadi Alizadeh on the Persian drum Tonbak and the Kurdish frame drum Daf. The result is a musical dialog between Armenian melodies and Persian-Kurdish rhythms. The music takes you on a fascinating journey to the Orient. Let yourself be carried away! Gayané Sureni and Iranian percussionist Hadi Alizadeh have been performing successfully as a duo since 2015. In 2017, they won the Creole Festival Bayern with their duo project.
